Students for Justice in Palestine Loyola University Chapter hosted a kick-off event to celebrate Palestinian heritage on Sept. 17.
The event was held on Loyola’s campus at the Mundelein Auditorium and was nearly filled to capacity. Palestinian-American poet Remi Kanazi, Muslim-Australian comedian Aamer Rahman and Sanabel Al-Quds—a six man debka group— all performed at the event. Following the performances, attendees danced and ate Palestinian cuisine for the rest of the night.
