What is Palestine in America?

Palestine in America Inc NFP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating people in the United States about Palestinian-American issues using journalism and cultural events. Palestine in America hosts articles, short stories, poems written by or about Palestinians. We produce our print magazine quarterly and hosts educational and cultural events.

PiA is always looking for original content to publish. Send in your reports to info@palestineinamerica.com Material will be edited by our team of editors and published as we see fit.

There are opportunities to earn blog space for regular  contributors, especially for student journalists, student activists and Palestinian-Americans.  Video and audio reports are accepted as well.

We ask that all entries be original. Any plagiarism will result in losing future opportunities to be published.

Once the report is published, Palestine in America reserves the right to keep or take down the report at anytime.

Rasmea Odeh legal update to be livestreamed

Rasmea Odeh and her defense attorney Michael Deutsch will be giving supporters a legal update on Odeh’s appeal on June 11th. The legal update will be livestreamed on a video conference at 6:30 pm central time.

Odeh’s defense attorney will explain her appeal and also answer questions from her supporters.

The update on Odeh’s appeal comes after her sentencing on March 12th. Odeh was sentenced to 18 months in prison and deportation to Jordan and stripping of her American Citizenship pending the appeal.

Odeh is a 68 year old Palestinian-American icon in the Chicago community. She an Associate Director of the Arab American Action Network (AAAN) and lead’s the AAAN’s Women committee, as well as oversees AAAN family empowerment and social services program.

Odeh’s appeal hearing will be held during September in Cincinnati, OH.

Rasmea’s Defense Committee calls on supporters to hold live stream events in their local communities. The update will be livestreamed on “Stopfbi.net” YouTube Channel.
